The Sub Group classification is used to further categorize items within Commodity Groups. This data is available in the Sub Group dropdown on the Add/Edit Item page.
1. Adding a New Sub Group
To add a new Sub Group to your organization:
Step 1: Access Sub Group Settings
- Navigate to Settings under the Inventory Module from the left sidebar.
- Select Sub Groups from the menu.
- Click the Add Sub Group button.
Step 2: Enter Sub Group Details
On the Add Sub Group page, fill in the following details:
- Sub Group Code – Enter a unique identifier for the sub group.
- Sub Group Name – Specify the name of the sub group.
- Select Group Name –
- Double-click to choose a Commodity Group.
- The system retrieves available Commodity Groups from the Commodity Group menu.
- Only Commodity Groups marked as Display will be available for selection.
- Order – The lower the order number, the higher the sub group appears in the Sub Group dropdown.
- Display Option –
- ✅ Checked → The sub group is visible in the Sub Group dropdown (Items Menu → Add/Edit Item form).
- ❌ Unchecked → The sub group is hidden and will not be available for selection.
- Note – Enter any additional details related to this sub group.
Step 3: Save the Sub Group
- Click the Save button to confirm and create the sub group.
2. Editing a Sub Group
To modify an existing sub group:
Step 1: Access the Sub Groups Menu
- Navigate to Settings under the Inventory Module from the left sidebar.
- Select Sub Groups from the menu.
Step 2: Edit the Sub Group
- Hover over the sub group to be modified and click Edit.
- Make the necessary changes.
- Click Save to apply the updates.
3. Deleting a Sub Group
If a sub group is no longer in use, you can delete it.
Step 1: Access the Sub Groups Menu
- Navigate to Settings under the Inventory Module from the left sidebar.
- Select Sub Groups from the menu.
Step 2: Delete the Sub Group
- Hover over the sub group to be deleted and click Delete.
- Confirm the deletion in the pop-up message.
- The sub group will be permanently removed.

- Sub Groups help refine inventory organization within Commodity Groups.
- Use the display option wisely to control which sub groups appear in item selection lists.
- Deleted sub groups cannot be recovered, so ensure they are no longer required before deletion.
